The Road to Cali...

We drove out of Arizona on Thursday afternoon after the movers loaded our stuff in the truck. It took us 15 hours to get there because we had to make lots of stops for feedings and diaper changing (more like diaper blowouts!). We decided to make it into 2 days. Em was nice enough to drive with us since we had to take two cars.

The first night we stayed in a hotel and found a house we wanted to look at when we got into town. We drove straight to the house without stopping anywhere first and made it with just a few minutes left of the open house. We filled out an application online that night and found out Monday morning that they picked us out of 7+ applicants. We are so excited to live in a nice house. Unfortunately we can't move in till the end of August, but this house is worth the wait.

We are trying to take advantage of these first few weekends that Curtis has off so we went to San Francisco and Oakland on Saturday. It was kind of a quick trip because we had to get back in time for a welcome dinner with Curtis' coworkers. Here we are on Pier 39 in SF.

Then we went to the Rain Forest Cafe for lunch. Brooklyn is just starting to eat a few solid foods and she loved the applesauce.

We left SF and headed to Oakland to go to the temple. It was such a beautiful day. We are very grateful to be only about an hour away from both this temple and the Sacramento temple.

We are so grateful for our little Brooklyn. She is such a happy girl!

The Last of AZ

We have just under 2 weeks left in AZ before our big move to California. I am really grateful that the military is going to move us. They show up, pack everything, and load it on the truck. We will then put it in storage while we live in temporary housing on base. That will give us some extra time to find a place to live.

Curtis and I went to his graduation dinner at the Biltmore. They honored the interns and chief residents. I had so much fun just getting all dressed up.

Em and Tim were nice enough to watch Brooklyn for us while we were at the dinner. They had quite a bit of fun with her :-)

What will Brooklyn do without Aunt Emmy to help her find her ghetto side?

We tried to get as much tennis in as possible before we left. I definitely left with more skill than I started with...but it still wasn't much!

Em might have had a little more skill than me...just maybe.

Our weekly ritual of watching American Idol ended with delicious rice krispy treats.

Right before leaving, we ordered a biking/jogging stroller. Although Brookie is a little bit small for it, we made it work. We really like taking her with us when we go out for some exercise!
