Happy Halloween

It's so fun to do things when your kids start to understand what is going on. The kids were super excited for Halloween this year. We trick or treated around the neighborhood and then went to the ward activity for some trunk or treat. I loved hearing Spencer say "yucka-reat" at every car.

Our friends, the Finlayson's, invited us over for pineapple carving. It was way easier than carving pumpkins. We decided to paint our pumpkins instead because they grow mold so fast here.

Spencer's 2nd Birthday

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY TO THIS LITTLE GUY

He came downstairs after we were in bed and we told him if he got out of bed again we would shut the door. Then an hour later Curtis and I went up to bed and found him asleep at the bottom of the stairs.

We went to the beach for his birthday- not sure how he didn't make it into the pictures. Probably because he is in the water the whole time!

Then we had pizza for dinner, cake and ice cream and opened presents

For months before his birthday Brooklyn kept asking him what kind of birthday he wanted -
"Cars Birthday" was always the response.

At 2 years old Spencer loves Mickey Mouse, Cookie Monster, Winnie the Pooh and cars. He follows Brooke around all day long and does whatever she does. He can out eat any kid his age (I'm pretty sure) and is a solid 38 pounds- emphasis on the solid! When he talks, he rarely says the first consonant sound of any word so he says things like "ip bops" (flip flops), "a bouse ish" (Mickey Mouse shoes), "nack" (snack) and "Pen-tda" for Spencer. He loves to ride Brooke's bike and play at the park. He also wants to be just like his daddy and "go work", "go football game", and "go running".

Then we went out side for a quick photo shoot. This boy does not hold still for pictures. This pose right here is what he does when he says "cheese"

playing in the leaves
A couple days later he was all ready to "go work" with Daddy's shoes and hat.

Daddy came home to find us playing Spencer's favorite game- horsey

I forgot to mention the funniest part of the day- While we were at the beach there was some sort of tournament with a bunch of Japanese students, probably middle school or high school. They must not have been from Okinawa because they were enamored by our children (Okinawans see Americans all the time as you can imagine- we invaded their island!). We have seen a little bit of this, but not to this extent. They kept coming over and trying to talk to the kids in their broken English. "How old am I" they asked Spencer and I told them it was his birthday. They were so excited for him and sang the American birthday song to him and then took pictures with him. I think we made their day! It's kinda fun being a celebrity :-)
