Duck, duck,....DUCK!

The other day Curtis and I taught Brooklyn and Spencer how to play duck, duck goose. They had so much fun. Spencer caught on very quickly and enjoyed going around the circle saying guck, guck, guck, guck ....followed at some point by a high-pitched squeal. We figured that meant goose so one of us would jump up and chase him. When it was Brooke's turn it took her a bit to catch on. She would say duck, duck, and then DUCK! Then she was so confused by the fact that no one got up and chased her. The next try was duck, duck, duck, PERSON! She said "when I say person, you get up and chase me". After a little explaining, she finally got to goose. It was quite an entertaining game!

Santa Rosa-
We recently found out that Curtis' aunt Carol and Uncle Ron were serving in our mission. They live just over an hour away so we spent yesterday hanging out with them. First we went to a really cool park in Santa Rosa and then they treated us to a wonderful lunch! Afterwards we went and checked out ARMSTRONG WOODS. I have to admit, part of the reason I wanted to go was just because of the name. It was a a beautiful drive through some huge redwoods. Colonel Armstrong is the biggest tree in the woods.

We drove through the windy road that took us to the top of the mountain. There was a fun little lake there where the kids enjoyed experimenting with their echo. What an amazing view!

We got Spencer some rain boots recently. We didn't have rain for very long, but when we did, the kids loved it. Spencer would bend down and try to drink the rain off the ground.

Brooklyn is now taking a dance class and she LOVES it. It is half ballet/half tap. She is catching on to the tap slowly, but the ballet she picked up instantly.

We celebrated Curtis' birthday a couple weeks ago. He really likes ice cream cake and I have tried to make him one every year. I think this is the best looking one I have ever done. Now we need to work on the taste;-)

Last but not least, we just got the movie FROZEN in the mail. Brooklyn has been obsessed with the music ever since we saw it, and we listen to it daily. Spencer has now caught on and he loves to sing it. It was so fun watching Brooke watch the movie. I would bet her cheeks hurt afterwards because she smiled through most of the movie. Today we had our friends come over and Spence sang Let it Go all the way through- with actions. Of course when I got the camera out he would hardly do it at all. Typical. You will have to wait for the movie another time when he is more cooperative.

HOPEFULLY our next post will be the location of our new home. We should find out any day where the air force is sending us. We will be leaving beautiful California in early July. We can only hope we go somewhere that has just as beautiful weather as we have here (fat chance, I know).
