Curtis is such a good Daddy. Sometimes on Saturday I have nothing left and he takes the kids to do something fun. This time it was to crafty things to paint some ceramics.
St. Patricks Day- why not eat green Hawaiian haystacks!
They have had a lot of fun birthday parties to go to lately. It is nice that they are so close in age because they have all the same friends.
Exploring more of Okinawa- this was the Southeast Botanical Gardens
Movie night on the lawn. We got through a whole 20 minutes before it started to pore on us.
Festival games at the nearby park. The base is really good at providing entertainment for families.
We finally took Daddy to the Egg farm/mini Zoo. Our favorite is the crazy monkey that has no vocal chords. He provides some great entertainment every time we go (and it's free so even better).
I am officially 20 weeks pregnant with baby number 3. We were supposed to have the anatomy ultrasound a couple days ago but they called that morning and cancelled my appointment. It is rescheduled for the end of April. I have been to Curtis' office twice now to see if we could tell whether it's a boy or girl with not much luck. The machine that the Women's Clinic lets us use is pretty ancient. Curtis says he is 70% sure it is a boy, still I think I have to wait for the official ultrasound to start any real planning.
We announced this to family at about 10 weeks because people here were finding out due to me being so sick. I started feeling sick at 4 1/2 weeks which we thought was way too early and it must be twins. Nope, just one. I was super sick for the entire first trimester. Thankfully that is over and now it is mostly just dealing with the fatigue that gets me. I have gained 8 pounds (all very recently) and haven't had any serious cravings. I did hate all sweet things during 1st trimester and am obviously making up for it now.
The kids are super excited to have a new baby. When we first announced it to the kiddos, Brooklyn's response was "Whoa, this is serious!" At least a few times a week the kids will say, as I am eating, "Mommy- when you eat, the baby eats!" We told Spencer that he had to be potty trained before the baby came and his comment was "Well, we can just have two babies."
On that note, I am happy to say we are a diaper free home for the next 4 months. It was conference weekend and we decided it was time. We refused to put a diaper on him after changing him in the morning and he cried for the next 2 hours. Then 4 hours later he walked into the bathroom and went poop all on his own. Finally he was no longer scared of pooping in the potty. It has been a fairly smooth transition, and I think that is because he is so old.
So, its now 3 weeks later and I still haven't posted this yet. I feel pretty good in the mornings, but get quite sore by the end of the day. Thankfully I am still able to do my workout of 80 or so flights of stairs twice a week, walk the Habu trail (very hilly, 3.7 miles long), and go to the gym.
Here is how we told the kiddos! I was going to make cupcakes but I don't even really like cupcakes and didn't want a whole pan of sugar to deal with. Instead we colored the inside of the chicken croissants.
