September Fun

We have had quite a bit of rain, and still they tell us this isn't the rainy season. The kids love playing in it when it isn't too crazy.

Saturday afternoon nap- someone has been having issues at nap time, but Daddy didn't complain that he fell asleep in his arms!

Favorite Peek-a-boo spot....or Brooke shut him in there, not sure which!

This is one of the tombs outside of our church parking lot. They are all over the island. It was so bright that day I couldn't really see what I was taking a picture of, but I love how it turned out- as if the heavens were shining down and the ancestors were watching over their descendants.

Curtis is now the official High School Football team doctor. It is kind of fun to go to the games every weekend (at least when the players aren't getting too hurt). Brooke tells me every time that her favorite part is the cheerleaders.

She loves to pose for pictures, almost too much. She says "Let's take a picture of my cute face"! Yikes! Hope we can curb that before she gets older!

We went to an egg farm which is kind of like a mini mini zoo. It's amazing though, the kids enjoyed it about as much as any Zoo we have been too. It took us all of 15 minutes to walk through and the best part- it's free!

We have found a beach that has made it to the top of our list so far. This is Sea Glass beach. We were one of the only ones on the beach and it was so beautiful. We found a lot of cool shells and sea glass. As I was looking for some cool ones, I thought of how it reminded me of the scriptures. If you just glance over them, you don't really see how wonderful they can be. When I searched, I found the most incredible perfect pink sand dollar. If you want to find the treasures in the scriptures, you need to search for them.

One thing is for sure, our kids love the beach.

We found the coolest pool just a day before it closed for the season. It is basically just for toddlers, so perfect for us. They make you wear swim caps for some reason. I couldn't believe the kiddos kept them on!

Toguchi Beach, shipment, preschool, and all that jazz!

We went to a new beach to try out our snorkeling gear on Curtis' day off. The snorkeling wasn't the greatest, but we still had fun.
The usual scene of Brooke on the shore and Spence in the water.

Might be a good place to take our family pictures!

Our shipment came on Saturday. It took a total of 2 months to get here and boy were we happy. This is the me attempting to keep the kids locked in while the movers unloaded. I think it lasted 20 minutes.  (Pictures of our house to come...)

The carpet here is very thin and not soft at all. We bought a runner to go in the hallway and you would have thought the kids have never seen soft carpet before.

We tried out our first Japanese restaurant all by ourselves. It says "Ramen" on the side of the building so we knew it was food. I think the entire menu was some form of ramen with some form of fried rice. Of course they don't give you knives and forks to cut it up for kids.

Spencer loved the food! I will spare you the details of what it did
to his diaper and my trips to the bathroom though!

Brooklyn started preschool this week. She goes to a DoD school on Camp Lester. She was so excited for her first day.

This picture makes me think he knows she is going to school without him and he has to stay home and take a nap.

"Brooke, just pretend you a re going to miss Spencer and give him a hug!"

The second day of school Brooke wasn't feeling very well but she said she wanted to go to school anyway. I took her thinking I wouldn't be surprised if I got a phone call saying she was too sick and needed to come home. An hour later my phone rang. The teacher said she first fell asleep at snack time and then on the grass when they were out playing. They woke her up twice and just couldn't keep her up. For those who knew me when I was in school, especially college, this was almost funny to me. I went to pick her up and she was asleep in the corner of the room. She really was sick and I felt bad that I had sent her, but it still cracked me up the tiniest bit that my daughter was sleeping through preschool!
