LAUNDROMAT
Today we took a trip to the Laundromat to clean blankets and comforters. Can I tell you how much I hate taking 2 children to the Laundromat? Here are some highlights of our trip...
- When I get there the big washing machines were all full of dry clothes. As I go to take one out, this person tells me they haven't been washed yet and they are waiting for their friend to come with the money. Well, I am washing a king sized comforter so I wait for one of the 5 large ones to open up. After 20 minutes their friend still is not there with the money and I am pretty ticked! I asked if I could just have one of the them and they very grudgingly took their stuff out. "Thank you so much" I added. No comment in return.
-Then in the first 5 minutes Brooklyn knocks over the smoothie we brought all over the floor.
- Spencer wants to crawl inside every dryer they have.
- I am feeding Brooke and Spence chicken nuggets and this little boy comes over and takes the nugget out of Spencer's hand and starts eating it. No comment from his parents.
- This same little boy pushes Spencer down every time he comes close to him. I guess he was paying him back for not sharing his nuggets.
- The only time Spencer attempts to escape out of the building is when I am moving the laundry from one machine to another. Luckily I caught him before he hit the street.
- To top it all off, I had to go to the bathroom the entire time. When we got home I was about ready to pee my pants. Brooklyn goes into the house and then locks me out. When I pounded on the door for her to let me in, she calls out "Just hang on a second, Mommy"!
When I read back through this, it doesn't sound as bad as I felt when we were in the midst of it. Needless to say, I don't think I will ever take 2 kids to the laundromat with me again.
